As a planning consultant, working on a wide range of residential projects across the UK, the economic viability of projects has been brought sharply into focus as a result of persistent increases in the cost of building over the past few years. Simon has been on hand to advise throughout these turbulent years, and has a sharp understanding of the ways in which development viability influences and impacts upon planning applications – particularly with regard to the provision of affordable housing.
Over the last couple of years, Simon has advised me on projects ranging from 191 flats in central Portsmouth, through to three houses in the rural South Downs National Park. He has a proven track record of significantly reducing, or indeed removing altogether, affordable housing liability on development projects of all shapes and sizes.
